Most development proposals have the potential to make an impact on biodiversity through loss of habitat or by significantly affecting environments for the species that rely on them. We undertake ecology surveys and deliver cost-effective, innovative solutions to mitigate impacts on local habitats for terrestrial, coastal and marine environments.

Banksia Ecology works with clients to design and develop solutions based on risk, regulatory requirements, site constraints and safety. We use cutting edge practice to assist our clients to understand environmental constraints and opportunities to design innovative and sustainable outcomes.

Our highly trained and experienced environmental planners provide advice and solutions for a wide variety of services We have extensive experience in conducting Flora and Fauna surveys across a variety of landscapes and mapping the identification of vegetation communities, habitats, geology, and potentially occurring threatened species based on state and national databases within a 10 kilometre radius of the site. This preliminary assessment is used to design a range of survey techniques to examine types, extents and conditions of vegetation communities and habitats, including threatened species and Endangered Ecological Communities (EEC).

We are able to undertake Species Impact Statements (SIS) when required. This is usually when a development is considered likely to affect threatened species, populations, ecological communities or their habitats. Our ecologists are experienced at preparing comprehensive SIS reports specific for any project.
